Walter was the 6th Child of Edward and Agnes(nee McBeth)on the 12/6/1882. Married Clara Mabel Tonkin 27/4/1910 at the methodist church, Koolywurtie. (have Clara's birth date 9/12/1883). Marriage witnessed by James Henry Croser and Olive Hilda Tonkin.
Walter was a farmer and grazier and for a few years was a butcher operating from his farm. His hobbies included athletics, cricket, tennis and he played the violin, concertina and accordion. Walter also bred "Greyhound Stags" as fox hunting dogs and he organised numerous fox hunts along the sand hills between Point Turton and Port Victoria. He was also a very fine horseman, and a good farm mechanic. He repaired all their own farm equipment and started the Horwood Bagshaw harvesters for the district.
Clara enjoyed playing cricket with her brothers and sisters, and did some very fine oil paintings, also needlework. Having a large family she was interested in all their activities especially tennis which wasplayed on their own tennis court. Clara was a valued member of the methodist churchand the CWA.
Walter passed away on the 20/9/1950, Clara passed away 9/5/1964 both buried in Minlaton Cemetery.
Of their 10 children I have their births of their children and the grand children through to 1982. As this is extensive I can send you a scan via email in pdf format if you dont already have this info.
