- Ann had a 20 month old daughter, Harriet Cheesley and a 2 month old daughter, Ellen Cheesley (also at that link) before they married. Ellen was married as 'Bagust'

James and Ann emigrated to New Zealand on the 25th February 1874 on the BALLOCHMYLE with their 5 children
- Ann's first born, Harriet, did not accompany them. She would have been 9 years old at the time (according to records found she died AFTER age 37)

- Martha married Robert LATTIMER (Latimer) in 1888 in Timaru
- she married Francis Edwin ENNIS in1928

1873-1937 Henry Thomas Bagust
- Henry married Emily LINDERS in 1894
- he married Hannah McQUARRIE in 1905
- he apparently had a relationship with Hannah's sister Euphemia but nothing yet found
- he died in Gisborne

1875-1958 Emily 'Emma' Bagust
- she was their first New Zealand born child
- Emma married John Joseph DALTON in 1894
- she married William 'Bill' FITTIS in 1912
- Bill was a gold miner, born in Bendigo Australia

1876-1928 John 'Jack' Bagust
- Jack married Julia Ellen CONNOLLY in 1902
- Julia was a daughter of John & Mary Connolly

1877-1965 Louisa 'Lovey' Bagust
- Lovey married Abraham HARRIS in 1898 in Featherston
- Abraham was a grandson of Abraham HARRIS & Sophia HARRIS, settlers of Taita, a son of their son Charles David HARRIS & Emma Elizabeth SUNNEX
- Louisa died in Martinborough aged 87

- Joseph married Sarah Jane Annie HARRIS 1912 in Masterton
- Sarah was also a granddaughter of Abraham & Sophia HARRIS (see link at Louisa above), a daughter of Walter HARRIS & Sarah Jane WYETH
- he died in Martinborough
