James Alfred Bevan died in 1938. He returned to Wales with his sister Mary Sophia after his parents died in 1866. James snr bought Cobb and Co in 1860 and was also a road contractor and built part of Sydney Road. James Jnr studied law then became a Vicar. He became the captain of the Welsh Rugby team befor studying Law then Theology. When the Wallabies play Australia, they play for the James Bevan Trophy. He married Annie Woodall and they had 11 children.
