My aunt, Betty WILSON (nee CASTLE), who lived from 1923 until 2009, lived in Nottinghamshire. Her father's mother, Harriet CASTLE (1853-1940) emigrated from England to San Francisco in about 1910, following the death of her husband. Some of her children went with her to California and her daughter, Mary CASTLE (b1879) married a man called Jan/Jean STANICH. They had two children, Mary Hildred STANICH born 31 July 1916 and Ivan Allan STANICH born 15 February 1915. Mary is not on the 1920 Census, so must have died before that time, but Harriet lived until 1940,dying aged 87, and was buried at the Golden Gate Cemetery, San Bruno. Jan STANICH is on the 1930 Census. I believe Ivan died in 2007 in San Luis Obispo, CA as Ancestry.com has an Alan J STANICH b 15 Feb 1915, died 12 March 2007. I would be very pleased to know what happened to Hildred, and whether she or her brother have living descendants. I could give them much information on their English forbears! Andrew Wilson
