O'Malley Hackett in Queensland

Journal by Jkennedy

Hi Allycat...I have researched the bdm index in Queensland and written to the churches within these areas...everybody tells me earlier records were destroyed in a fire.....my years are for around the 1860 onwards...I have also written to Hackett and O'Malley families in Queensland (I got the addresses from the phone book and the electoral roll)I received 2 replies out of about 20...I also would like to know how to find out where somebody is buried if I can't find a death certificate...Arthur was allegedly killed riding his bike to work in Sydney in the depression...He was alive in 1938 because he signed hospital papers for his wife in that year....Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
Jean

Dear Jean, Hmmm definitely a tricky one. Perhaps you could find out if you trawled through the Historical Australian Newspapers Online. Search for O'MALLEY and HACKETT and click on QLD. NB website is moving shortly.

Have you checked with your local LDS family history society?

Have you thought about putting your family tree online? I would recommend GenesReunited (membership fee) and Geni (free).
