* The death occurred at the Masterton hospital yesterday morning of an old identity of the district in the person of Mr John Rose. The deceased was brought into Masterton on Tuesday from Tenui in an unconscious condition. He was about seventy-five years of age and many years ago was a contracting builder in Masterton, but he has resided in the Tenui district for the last fifteen years. It is not known whether he has any relatives in the Dominion. The funeral will take place at the Masterton cemetery this afternoon.
