I have a grandfather, James G Townsend whom I believe was born in Frostburg, MD.

My Great Great Grandfather was born in Worcester County MD in 1793 and died in 1871 in Worcester Co as well, but they could still be related. Have you done much research on your Townsend relatives? Mine are all from the lower Eastern Shore of MD except we can't get past Lazarus, born about 1740 we believe in Accomack Co VA (which Worcester was once part of). My brother did a DNA test and he does not match any of the known Townsend family groups, including the Snow Hill, Worcester Co, MD group. We are still working on it as we well know that kids were orphaned or indentured all the time and their original surname was lost. I'd be happy to hear back from you. Regards
