How do you find information on a person with very limited information. Peter Conrad came to Northumberland county Pennsylvania in 17?? from Germany. He is buried there. This all the information I have. Except the family moved to northern Indiana in 1837 o
1838 after Peter died. Peter had four sons: Henry, Peter, Daniel, and Jacob. I do not have the name of his wife. This information is from a hand written family tree by Ralph L. Conrad --1928-1929.
Any information or tips on where to look would be helpful. Thank you.

I was rather hoping for a gold star weren't you Charlotte.
Hi Charlotte, On some of the trees I looked at, I saw some had Magadalena Steinbruch/Steinbrook 's brother Jacob married Elizabeth Conrad 1768. Do you know if that's right. There were some terrible trees at least 4 in ancestry.com had Magdalena married at 8yrs old. Makes me wonder are they actually researching or just clicking that little green leaf. Jan
Jan,
Thank you for the response, yes a gold star would be great. I do not think that Magadalena is in my family tree but am not sure. Jacob was suppose to be born in 1798 and married Amelia Funk. I will keep searching and let you know if I find any more information. Thank you again. Charlotte

The Conrad-Steinbruck family is a large and complicated one. As you can tell, they gradually moved west across Pennsylvania, and many of them settled in Crawford Co., PA, fairly early (ca. 1802). Some of the relationships are tentative, but seem to be credible. Three of the Jacob Conrad of Sunbury (d. 1812) married into the Steinbruck family - Jacob Conrad married Catherine Steinbruck, Peter Conrad married Magdalena Steinbruck, and Elizabeth Conrad married Jacob Steinbruck. The Steinbrucks were siblings, the children of George Frederick Steinbruck and his wife Catherine (surname not positively known). Elizabeth Conrad and husband Jacob Steinbruck migrated here to Crawford Co., as did Elizabeth's brother John Nicholas Conrad and his wife Mary Magdalena _____. And, although Peter Conrad and his wife stayed in Northumberland, at least three of Peter Conrad's children came here - David Conrad and Christian Conrad, and their sister Elizabeth Conrad, who married Isaac Kightlinger. To make matters worse, this David Conrad married Elizabeth Steinbruck, granddaughter of Elizabeth Conrad and Jacob Steinbruck. Christian married twice, first to Sarah Steinbruck, also related through another Steinbruck, and second, to her cousin Sarah Kightlinger. It's a fun group to sort out! If anyone really wants details, I can provide that.
