Hi gaveeno.
Can you share with us a bit of what you've tried and discovered so far? Have you asked your parents and grandparents for what they know? Do you have your family tree filled out up to any of your 4 pairs of grandparents, or any of your 8 pairs of Great Grandparents?
ARDERN and BRIENESSE will probably be easier to research as they are much more unique than HALL. You'll be overwhelmed by all the HALL information out there that mostly has nothing to do with you.
Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
to be honest all i know is my fathers name is phillip ardern, and my mother is gayle hall ad she was born on the 26/02/1955 im afraid that is all i know

i ment thanks gerry sorry
Ardern is French, My mums maiden name is Ardern, My grandad told me his grandparents or their parents (not really sure) came out from Tasmania before heading to New Zealand
I just saw a heap of ARDERNs in Rutherglen Victoria. I'll have a look in Tassie for you. Do you know (about) how many years ago the ARDERNs went to New Zealand. Was it the ARDERNs in Tassie or the HALL's. (please say ARDERN)
I could give you the Giles ARDERN b:1841 Cheshire d:1942 Thames, New Zealand ancestry but doesn't look like they called in to Tasmania and I can't find a Phillip down the line. He would be the most prolific of the ADERNs in New Zealand.
Tell me your grandfather's full name.
you could probably contact this guy Mike BRIENESSE NZ
Three cheers for janilye and Aussie 1947!
