1841 Census states that there was another son John (14) who was a shoe maker apprentice and that the father George was an Officer of Customs.
It lists the place of residence as Calstock Town.

I found a Charlotte PETTER who married George Ley Skinner,30 July 1833 at Stoke Damerel, Devon.
