Alford of Killymard, Donegal, Ireland 1800
In Killymard, Donegal about 1800, Edward MORROW and his wife, Margaret ALFORD had children. A daughter, Rachael MORROW arrived about 1806. I have no parents for Margaret, no siblings and I do not know her origins yet. Rachael married an Edward MORROW about 1827 in Ireland, he had the same name as her father which makes this line hard to follow.
Rachael and Edward had 10 children including my ancestor, Margaret MORROW. That surname changed to the more Scottish MURRAY about 1835 when they moved to Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Margaret MURRAY then married George ALLAN also from Donegal in 1855, Campsie. That Marriage Registration gave Margaret ALFORD as the maiden name of her mother. Still looking for this Donegal ALFORD family with ties to Stirlingshire. They ended up in Glasgow in the late 1800s. Meg Greenwood, Oklahoma USA
