My FAIR family line is: Gary K. FAIR (me); my father Everett FAIR (b. 1923 Pike Co IN); his father Austin Marvin FAIR (b. 1872 Pike Co IN); his father Daniel FAIR (b. 1825 Pennsylvania); his father - my gggrandfather Samuel FAIR (b. about 1793 Pennsylvania). I have nearly full information on all but Samuel FAIR. I know he married Maria (poss. Mary, but do not know her maiden name. She was born in Germany (1860 Daviess County IN Census)or Switzerland (1850 Gallatin Co KY Census). Samuel and Maria had several other children: Samuel, Jacob, Mary, Sarah, poss. others. Jacob was born about 1817, probably the eldest. I have been searching since 1992 for more information on this couple, my FAIR gggrandparents, and have been unsuccessful. There is much information out there about FAIR families in PA, but cannot make any connection between them and mine. Any information on them would be very much appreciated.

This FAIR family apparently traveled from Pennsylvania before 1850 to Gallatin Co KY. Samuel, Maria; Jacob and wife Isabella REYNOLDS, with son, Peter; Samuel Jr with wife Martha BENNETT and daughter Mary --- all were in the 1850 census there. In 1850 Daniel had moved on to Pike Co IN with wife Nancy ALCORN and children George, Benjamin, and Mary.
After Nancy ALCORN died about 1853-54, Daniel would marry Martha DEASON (1854), Nancy DEDRICK 1857,then finally, my ggrandmother, Malinda WARD in 1860.
