First find a site where you can begin typing all the names and dates you know. Read this in about.com they have some hints. http://genealogy.about.com/cs/free_genealogy/a/free_sites.htm
And when you need help just ask us, no need to wait till you hit the proverbial brick wall. Oh Yes! you will hit it.
