Hello,
According to familysearch there is a William Holden aged 70, birth place: Windsor, Berkshire, appearing on the 1881 census, (RG11 ? 2689/29 Page number 14). He was living at 57 Duke Street, Stafford (District Ss Mary And Chad,) in Staffordshire, a married House Decorator (Painter). At the same address, his 60 year old wife Elizabeth and 27 year old son William.

I found a marriage for a William Holding & Elizabeth Chadwick dated 01 Apr 1852 at St. James, Wolverhampton, Stafford, England and there is a birth registered for a William Holding in the December ? of 1854 at West Bromwich both of which might be worth following up.

You would need to get copies of the certificates to verify these are the correct people, which you can do on line, and don't worry too much about the variations of spelling as this was very common in the 19th century.

Good luck..........

Thanks Mousehouse
the first William you mention is correct from Duke street Stafford
I,m sorry maybe I didn,t make myself very clear (not to good at this)
but I am looking for information on his and his brother,s birth witch they claim is Windsor Berkshire.
The name varies across the times from Holden, Holding and his origanal spelling of Houlding.
Thanks for your help Sue

Hi Sue,
If you work backwards you collect information along the way and that tells you if you are finding the correct person. Hopefully!

If you get young William's birth cert then you can verify if his Mother WAS Elizabeth Chadwick. Then you get the marriage cert, that gives you the names of the couple's fathers, and then when you find a likely suspect for William of Windsor you can verify by getting his birth cert and checking that the name of father tallies.

I hope that makes some sort of sense to you?

I can try again if I haven't been very lucid.
Best wishes.............

Hi again, Yes i have got William jnrs certificate and his Mum is ELIZABETH HODSON, witch is correct as I have William and Elizabeths marriage record from Stafford records also. They married in 1833 so no certificate.
William jnr is the 7th of 9 kids they had!

Sorry we don't have any connection to ELIZABETH CHADWICK at all.
thanks Sue
