Start with what you know. List your parents, add details of the birth, marriage, occupations, where they were born etc. Then list your grandparents adding details and so on.

You can use Genesreunited or ancestry to add details to build your family tree.

Use freebmd to find birth, marriage and deaths, findmypart also have bmd records and also census.

Another useful site is familysearch.

Use forums like this one to ask for details of your ancestors, provide as much detail as you can so that there are some leads to trace your ancestors.
