It's thought that Walter's father was John Beecham Downey born about 1725 and died in Ireland. That's about all I and most people who are researching this family know. Perhaps there's a marriage certificate for Walter around, which would probably give you a clue. He would have been married in Baltimore around 1775.
All we really have of the Donegal Records, are these submitted by private researchers.
