I am looking for my Grandfather's family tree. He was in North Carolina for quite some time, and also in Florida. He was married to Elenore Shutes, (I can't remember her maiden name), and they had 6 children, including my mother Sharon Lee Shutes.

I suggest trying familysearch.org

You will find census records, births, marriages, deaths, social security indexes and you can look from your own PC.

Also, may I suggest looking on the familytrees on rootsweb. Someone else might be working on your line. Just check their sources of info.

Ancestry is excellent. Some libraries have it in their data bases and
family history centres have it too.
