Frederick returned to New Zealand on the S.S. 'Harleck Castle' but later joined the Staff 7 NZMR as 4060 Regimental Sergeant-Major, sailing aboard S.S. 'Gulf of Taranto' from Wellington on 6 April 1901. After the war he stayed in Transvaal working in the diamond mines. Frederick also served in World War One in East Africa. His sister Frances Price was the first New Zealand Nurse in France to be decorated with the Royal Red Cross, presented by King George. (go to his link for more)
Frederick Gordon Price died in February 1944 aged 73 in Johannesburg, South Africa
