Hi!Apparently my descendants are not related to this John Hayes although there were quite a few Hayes in Murroe around this time and this John Hayes may have been related somehow i e cousin etc.Paddy and Lena Hayes are the only two of my mothers family i cant get any info on.My mothers father was Larry Hayes their youngest brother who stayed in Murroe all his life.Their father and mother were John Hayes and Ellen Fitzgerald Hayes and John Hayes father was John also! They were all Murroe people.Incidentally Ellen Fitzgerald was supposedly a cousin of Thomas Fitzgerald who left Bruff Co Limerick for US and put the F in JFK!

You're right about there being a lot of Hayes's in the area! It might pay to see if he joined up. I did have a quick look and found 5 Patrick Hayes who died in the war but didn't get around to looking at enlistments. Would be good if he had have as the enlistment records usually show quite a bit of information incl. next of kin.

I ll have to try something like that although if i spend any more on ancestry i ll be facing divorce!!The only thing i m quite sure of is that my old Uncle Paddy (Patrick Hayes was his uncle)says that he died quite young and his wife was quite a piece of work and apparently he did nt come back home after leaving for UK.
