Cox/Leblanc so many secrets

Journal by juliacox

I am searching for cox family.
My great grandfather was Frederick Cox married Elizabeth leblanc. children were Frederick, Hurbert, ?Manson and Robert. Daughters Eusibe Roberts, mindey Cox and zenobia Roberts.
My Grand father ? Manson was not married to my grand mother Maguerite Verdin and they seem to have both been good at keeping secrets.
Any way my Grand Father's name is questionable now. I can not find any record of a Manson Cox born or deceased from texas.
My great uncle Robert grandpas brother had been keeping in contact with my Dad all his life, but he passed away so I cant ask the one person who could have told me alot.
Now what I need to know is, if there is a way to find someone without having the first name and also is there a place to check for name changes?
I appreciate the help
Thank you

What do you think about going to familysearch.org, putting in only the first name and Texas as location and maybe a date range? It is possible that he changed his last name to avoid any entaglements with the family. That may give you some leading in what direction to go, OR try putting in the name you have with NO state and see what comes up. Another thought...Does Uncle Robert have and descendents that might have old letters in a box in some attic? This sounds like a real "treasure" hunt! I hope you have success in filling in the blanks in your family history.

You are right it is quite a hunt. lol and Im getting hit both ways. Seems my grandmother's side is just as confusing. my gggrand mother was a La Dauphin who married a VERDIN then ened up a SENET. The next Grand mother married a picou and a verdin, and then my grand mother married a Ruffin, a Haynes and a Pinkston and the more I search the more names I get. But if I could just get my Dad's side down that would be great. Thank you for all your help, I'll try family search and my Uncles Son Paul if my dad has a way to contact him.
Have a bless and safe week.
