Looking for ancestors of Ludwig Harthaus of Hersfeld (Hirschfeld), Thuringen b. 1835
Hello, Please help me. My wife is looking for ancestors back beyond her Great-grandfather Ludwig HARTHAUS(EN).
Bark "Laura" from Bremen, Germany to Baltimore Maryland 22 April 1872
56 Ludwig HARTHAUS m 37 Prussia Hirschfeld Germany
57 Catharine Harthaus f 38
58 Catharine Harthaus f 8
59 Ferdinand Harthaus m 7
60 Tobias Harthaus m 5
61 Johann Harthaus m 1/3
There seem to be quite a number of HARTHAUS households all over the Hersfeld, Dollstadt, Thuringen area in Germany. We are looking for "direct links" backwards through to the break from Dietrich HACK VON HARTHAUSEN, sometime in the 14. Jahrhundert, although we wouldn't mind the other direct relatives either: (siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins). Oh, by the way, are the VON HAXTHAUSENS directly related to the VON HARTHAUSENS from Swabia? The only town I could find named Haxthausen is the same village also referred to as Harthaus, Haradhusin, Harthausen, Harthusin, Hardhusen, (Freising), etc.
I have compiled a chronological list (a 16 year project) that is very questionable in spots and requires a number of "leaps of faith", but one that can roughly trace this family from Hathagast VON HAGEN in the year 524, when he helped King Theodoricus sack Thuringen forward. This list includes a large number of the branches of the VON HAGEN, DE HAGA, HAGEN-MUNZENBURG, VON SCHWERIN, VON HOHENECK, VON WOLLSTEIN (WELLSTEIN, WALLSTEIN, WALLENSTEIN), HACK, HACK VON HARTHAUSEN, HAGK VON HARTHAUSEN, HARTHAUS, HARTHAUSER, HARTHAUSEN, HARTHUSER, , etc. families, through to the family HARTHAUS that established itself as "HARTHAUSEN" in the Baltimore, Maryland, USA area. (A lot of the connections are non-verifiable and is almost completely compiled from other locations on the internet, so therefore may not be used for commercial purposes, due to copyright laws.)
