My GGgrandfather was Sam P FLETCHER who was married to Fanny, or Francis Martin. In the 1850 and 1860 census in TN there is a girl named Ellen Martin, in one record and E F Martin in another. In the 1860 census, she is listed just a few pages away from the listing for Sam P Fletcher. Sam's father Granderson Fletcher is a tailor, and Ellen's older brother is as well, so it seems likely that the families would have known each other. I have been unable to verify that she is the Fanny Martin who married Sam, though she is the right age.
