I have a James ASHBY born c 1881 & died 1961, lived in Hutt Valley near Wellington, New Zealand. He married Lillian Pauline ASHBY & she pre-deceased him in 1956. Both buried Taita Cemetery (Old) Lower Hutt Wellington. His burial record said "retired railway engineer" They had 3 daughters & maybe a son or his brother Joseph ASHBY & an Edward ASHBY lived with him at different times. Let's know if any fits & I can put you in touch with living NZ family.
