my grt grt grandmother Emily Christian 1-7-1851 to 17-1-1922 I think her mother died[ Elizabeth Caroline Sutton 1824 to 1864 Deal] and her father [ Benjamin Fisher Christian 23-6-1814 to 18-11-1874] remarried into the White family. Because the story goes she called on family in Melbourne [ White and Christian shipchandlers] on her way to ChCh,NZ to stay with aunties on the White side of family in ChCh

Hi,

Benjamin Fisher Christian (widower), gentleman of Battersea married Mary Ann White (widow)of Battersea on May 6th 1865 at St Mary, Battersea Parish, Surrey.

Banns, March 19th 1865, March 26th 1865 & April 2nd 1865.

Benjamin's father was Benjamin Fisher Christian, Ironmonger.
Mary's father was Isaac Smith Bagshaw, Zinc Roofing Manufacturer.
