Article by Scott_J

These are the various ways to get help **about* FamilyTreeCircles *on* FamilyTreeCircles.

Check out the FAQ page.

Use the contact us form. This is best for issues like password problems, since you cannot use some of the other options without logging in.

Send me a private message.

Drop into the FamilyTreeCircles campfire chat. You can not only chat with me, but with other FamilyTreeCircles members, if they're in there.

If you have a question that you think someone other than the owner of FamilyTreeCircles can answer, comment on this post. That increases the chances of getting a quick answer AND allows other to benefit from your question.

Scott Jangro is the owner of FamilyTreeCircles.com and has documented roots back to Mayflower passengers Stephen Hopkins and William Brewster. If you're wondering what he's doing when he's mysteriously absent, here's some links to other stuff he's responsible for: about.me/jangro.

It seems I have a private message from edmondsallan but I am unable to access it, i.e. READ it. Please help ASAP.

by SafeBoy on 2012-11-03 22:35:54

Can you please assist me in removing the comments I added recently? I have discovered they are effectively incorrect, and I want to correct them, but I cannot edit or remove my own comments! :( ...

They are on user profile kanga1641 ...

Please do let me know if this can be done.

I have a private message from edmondsallan but I don't see any way to access it to read it. Please help. Perhaps guidance for reading private messages could be added to the FAQ's. Thanks!

If anyone can answer this please do!

When I write text and then enter it, when it appears as it's supposed to I get something strange.

If I write a place name or Church name like St Mary's it comes out as St Mary`a`s
only the grave sign and next letter are closer together.
How can I stop this or correct it.
Cheers
Gepeto

If I removed and deleted a journal then i have the right to keep it deleted as new info has been found and i didnt want incorrect info showing in my replies and wondering why has it been used for another area when it was deleted thanks

How do I edit or delete a comment I made on somebody else's journal entry? And how do I delete my familytreecircle account? I'm very unhappy with this website, there are no edit/delete options for comments or my profile. There is no contact info or support service that is actually functioning. When I click the "support" button there is no way to send a message, and the other methods I have tried to use to make contact haven't worked either. So frustrating!

To Gepeto. Symbols and signs like pound, dash etc. are no longer working.
£ — I know! It's annoying :[

To papagirl.
Yes! your journal has been removed from public view; the reason you still see it is because you are signed in and you are the author. But believe me - we don't see any journals by you.

To symonewish.
You cannot delete a comment on another members' journal. It is up to the journal owner to delete your comment and that may only be done by deleting the journal. They would have to copy and paste it to another page and delete the original.
Yes. This site seems to be abandoned; only a few old stalwarts like myself still here and unfortunately without any power to fix the many errors cropping up within the site.

cannot type more than 30 weords or it locks up
cannot correct mistakes

by ngairedith on 2018-04-12 01:56:52

hi clarence,
You are using the pages incorrectly then ..
The top line is for a short heading only, just an introduction into what your journal in the main body is about - an example is one of my own journals
See the heading is Benjamin Milton WILDEY + Catherine Wason MUNRO
Click on that and you will see that the 'main body' of the journal is thousands of words long

So, type the heading, add your journal beneath it in the large square, go to end and press 'Submit'

When you want to correct mistakes, simply click on "Owner Edit" which is beside your name at top of journal. This will take you inside the story where you can add and edit whatever you want. When finished scroll down to end and click 'submit' again

You cannot correct or delete anything you write in comments
