Wallace Gordon ALLEN 1918 to 1961

Query by nenehenry

Does anyone know of Wally Allan. On this birth certificate he was born in Merewether NSW 19th
April 1918. In the Australian Navy during WW2, possible HMAS Torren, died in Perth at age 43 years in 1961 from cancer. Had a elderly woman by the name of MS Warren who cared for him in the last year in Freemantle. My father was a friend, Clive Earnest William HENRY a POW and on the HMAS Perth. Would like to hear from any family members of the WARREN family or Wallace's (Wally) Gordon Allan or Allen's family. Wally was single and had no children. Possible siblings. Thanks Nene Henry

Wallace Gordon Allan was my Uncle Wally, ex RAN, as you say, he died young at 43 in the care of Mrs Warren of Fremantle.
The rest of his family (the Allans, including me) lived back East, in Newcastle.
Even his old Dad, John Allan was still alive in Merewether until he died in April 1962 at almost 95 years of age.
I was only 19 in 1961, but in February that year I called in to Fremantle hospital with Mrs Warren (I still do not know her firstname) to have a chat with him, while on a Western holiday.
There were four brothers, sons of old John (my grandad) and his wife Annie Elizabeth nee Bowes (who died in 1940): Donald Jack (d.1936), James Robert, my dad d. 5 Feb 1991, Wally (d.1961) and Harry Stewart (d.1976).
I will be scanning some old photos in the next day or so for the family tree.
