Looking for Smith of Texas

Query by leichty

I am trying to find out more about my great grandfather Fred Smith he was born in Texas. From what I can find out his parents were Sheb Smith. and Mrs Sheb Smith. They had a son which was my grandfather Fred Elmo Smith born about 1902 in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas. From what history I have gathered Fred Smith died working on the railroad and died about 1905 from TB. Leaving my grand father Fred Elmo Smith his mother Anna May Cavanaugh alone. My grand mother Anna May later married a man by the name of Jess W. Losey. who raised him as his own and Fred Elmo just took on the name of Losey as his last name. I need to know if Sheb Smith is his real father, and if Fred Smith really died in about 1905. My grand father grew up and Married but used Smith in parenthirs along with Losey. He married my grand mother Ida Bernice OConer. If any body has any information about these people I would really appricate it. I have been looking for the missing pieces for a very long time. Please contact me at leichty46@yahoo.com thank you.

My grandpa was Elmo Alfred Smith. He passed in 1977 in Porter Texas. He was born in the right time frame to be sired by someone Fred Elmo Smiths age. I wonder if they are connected
