Edward Norton that came from Armagh Ireland. Edward, born around 1687, Probably the Father of Edward born 1715,died 1778. This Edward was in Pennsylvania as early as 1933(at age 18), married Elizabeth Brown in Chester, Nottingham, Penn in 1939(at age 24) Elizabeth was born 1718, died in 1791. Both Edward and Elizabeth are burried in Guilford County,N.C. They Had a son named William, born in 1740, one year after their marriage, while still in Chester, Nottingham, Pennsylvania....
William married Jemima Pickeral, he passed away in 1821, wife Jemima passed away in 1829.
They are burried on the farm near Tamassee S.C., located on Dynamite Rd., called the
George Rankin Farm. William and Jemima had a son named Gideon P. Norton, born 1774 who married Sarah Edmunson. Most of this info came from research already done...found on ancestry.com and at nortonfamily.net web site.
William and Jemima had a son named Gideon, born 1774 in S.C., married to Sara Edmundson... they are resting in Macon County, N.C.
That's as far as I can go.... I have been trying to find something to link
my great great grandfather (Thomas P. Norton 1804-1875) to Gideon P. Norton and Sarah Edmundson. But so far, no luck.
