Roswell "Buck" Whitaker
Born in Edgecombe County, NC May 4, 1891, son of Agnes Whitaker.
Grandson of James S. Whitaker and Clarkey (Clarkie) Whitaker.
Maried Nicie Lee Cofield on February 2, 1910. Lived on own small farm in northern Edgecombe County from 1924 until March 1971. Both Roswell and Nicie died 1971. Buried at Red Hill Church Cemetery at Red Hill Church Road (SR-1423) and NC Highway 33. Had 12 children plus 4 more who died as infants.
