Looking for anyone with a well-established CRAMP and/or NORTHEY tree, in Eastern Australia

Query by Crampets

Hi, I don't know of anyone born before 1912, except for the fact I had an ancester by the name of Roy Cramp, who served in WWI, and my great-grandmother, who changed her name to Giesendana when she came to Australia, from, if I'm correct, Switzerland. All I know of her is her last name, and that she married into the Aldridge family, up in Townsville. My grandfather, Robert Cramp, is a descendant of Roy, and before that, I can't tell you.

My grandmother is Melody Aldridge, and she married Ronald Northey, whose father is Roland Northey. I don't know his mother's name.

If anyone can fill in the blanks, it would be awesome :)

Could be, all I know is she spent her later years in Townsville. I was still young when we visited her house.

Could be Giezendanna, I wasn't sure on the spelling, also taking into account how close Z is to S (pronunciation and usage-wise) in most Germanic languages. I think you've struck gold with this one :P

How did you find this stuff? I'm new (As you probably guessed...) to researching genealogies...

Thanks anyway :)

I have discovered many Swiss with the name Geizendanna.
To be certain which queensland Geizendanna she is, I would need an approximate age for your grandmother. Think about when you last saw her and approximately how old would she have been.
The more information you can impart the better the chance we have of pinning her down.
husband, children, sisters, brothers?

So I had it wrong. I was under the impression the Giezendannas were on the Aldridge side, but obviously not...

Shows how much I knew :P

In my defence I was only 9 when Esther died...

Esther and Roland were the parents of my grandfather on my mother's side.

I think, I'm not sure though, that Hilda is still alive, somewhere up there in Townsville.
