Our Great Grandfather William James Stevens was apparently 56/57 years old [b. 1854/55 or so ?] when he married our G.Grandmother Nancy Alice Herbert who would have been around 26/27 years of age [b. 1886 ] They married at the home of John and Harriet Herbert [ Nancy's parents ] on the 13th of June 1912 in a Church of England Ceremony. Registered in the Gresford Shire of Wollarobba signed by Ada Herbert on the 12th July 1913.

William James Stevens parents were listed as Father- Fredrick Stevens [ widower and butcher ] and possibly Mother- Mary Corehard ? [from London England]. This information was gleaned from his and Nancy's Marriage certificate- however due to a lot of errors found on N.S.W. b.d.m. records and some Burial Records [ to do with our Grandmother May Hepburn nee Stevens and their daughter Rachael] we are a little sceptical to say the least.

Question is - our William J. Stevens is a mystery - cannot find death or burial details or anything else on him -
Does anyone out there know anything of this person, any information, know of any relatives etc...Anything at all ??? We would be so Grateful.
