Looking for Kirkham of Nottingham

Query by suzy2711

I am also looking for any information on the Kirkham family. My great grandmother was Alice Kirkam born in Nottingham to Thomas Kirkham and Harriet Brown.
For some reason she told my father that her family were of Irish descent having moved to the UK at the turn of the century. I can find nothing to evidence that.
In actual fact I can find nothing to take me back with any evidence any further tha her parents. I do know that her grandfather was a William Kirkham and her grandmother was Sophia Moult.
Any information would be very much appreciated.

Hi, thankyou for your prompt response! I have that information, and contrary to what Alice told my father, all those years ago!, she had a great many sisters and a brother. My father knew about none of them. Alice married Jim Mason from Mansfield Woodhouse and told my dad about how she sat on the steps on the Ropewalk looking down at the church.
I'm heading off on the school run very soon, but I'll get my tree up later so that I can quote accurately how far I have reached. I think it was just back to her grandfather William who I found in service at Bullwell House, but prior to that I can't find him. I did have a Sophia Moult, but the dates just didn't stack up and so I have deleted until I can evidence that what I've found is correct.
I found that Sophia & William had a son George, they married 1849 from memory and so should have appeared together on the 1851 census together, but the Sophia Moult I found was still living with her parents in 1851, unmarried.
