Clark/e in Scotland / Ireland

Seeking information on my lineage in Scotland and Ireland.
My great-grandfather:
John Clark, born abt 1863 (Ireland), died after 1912; married 19 Jul 1886 (Coatbridge, Scotland)
Mary Harold, born b. 30 Jun 1866 (Cootehill, Ireland), d. after 1912
John's father, Patrick, believed born in Ireland, unknown dates of birth/death; married
Ann Hendraty, no further information on her.
John and Mary had 9 children alive in 1901:
Patrick, 17 May 1887 (Coatbridge, Scotland), d. 3 Jan 1936 (Glasgow, Scotland)
married Susan McIlduff, 1886-1937
Annie, about 1892 in the USA, unknown death
Thomas, abt Sep 1895 in the USA, unknown death
Catherine, 23 Jul 1897 (Coatbridge), unknown death
Mary, 9 Sep 1899 (Coatbridge), unknown death
John, about 1902 (Motherwell, Scotland), unknown death
James, 3 Nov 1905 (Coatbridge), unknown death
Alice, 26 May 1908 (Coatbridge), unknown death
Edward ((my grandfather)), 18 Nov 1903 (Motherwell), 18 Oct 1982 (Naples, Florida)
Edward married Dorothy Simon 26 Aug 1933 in New York City; They had two sons:
John, 13 May 1934 (Brooklyn, NY), living
Merle ((my father)), 23 Aug 1935 (Brooklyn, NY), 25 Aug 1990 (Vacaville, CA)
Seeking info on my great grandparents and their forefathers.
Also, on my great uncles and aunts. Especially those Annie and Thomas.

cootehill34 on 2016-02-16 13:18:16I have just come upon this site and can help a little. I have compiled a Harold family tree which includes some of the Clarkes. Mary was my great grandfather's daughter.
Catherine (1897) died in Motherwell on 9th December, 1952. (My Auntie Kate). Mary (1899) died on 23rd June, 1922. James (1905) died on 14th Sept. 1959. He married Margaret Gordon on 31st Dec. 1930. Alice (1908) died in 2004. She married George Reilly in Coatbridge on 31st Dec.1929.
There are still Clarkes living in Coatbridge and I occasionally meet up with Tom. The Clarkes emigrated to USA and some of them came back, so it has been almost impossible to find out anything about the ones who remained in the US.
Naturally my family tree contains lots of the Harolds and you are welcome to pick my brains.

I was wondering if you had any of the following information:
Mary Harold (1866) Married John Clark in 1866. Do you know John's date and location of birth?
I know John's parents were Patrick Clarke and Ann Hanratty. Would you have any information about them?
Mary's parents were James Harold and Ann Coyle. I only have estimated years of birth for both of them and assumed birth locations are Cootehill.
Would you have any dates for these?
John's parents were Samuel Harold and Susan Smith. However, I have no further information regarding them. Anything you could provide of them (and their ancestors) would be great!
Also, I know nothing at all about Susan Smith's parents.

We took a trip to Scotland 3 years ago and visited Coatbridge. Its a shame I did not have any contact names and addresses when we were there.
I would love to have the names, data, and contact information for those still over there in Scotland and Ireland. If anyone would like it, please give them my email address.
You probably have more information about the Clarke's lineage than I do, but if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks to you I have managed to find a few more relatives. I'll give you what I have about the Clarkes but lots of records were destroyed in the Irish uprising of 1922.
John, married to Mary Harold (my Dad's aunt). I can't find any birth record for John but will keep trying. Again, no details about Patrick and Ann, probably because of the riots.
James, who married Ann Coyle was born in 1838 in Co. Cavan, probably Cootehill. He married Ann on 28th Feb. 1864 in Muddebawn, Cootehill. James died at 25 Camp Street, Motherwell on 23rd Sept. 1910. Ann was born in Co. Cavan in 1848 and died at the same address as James on 13th Feb.1910.
Samuel was as far back as I could go, c1815, the same with Susan Smith.
There were a lot of Clarkes. I presume you have the details of John and Mary so here are James and Mary Gordon's family. They had 10 children and most of them still live in the Coatbridge area. I will see if I can get an address or email for someone
