Looking for Funk of Empire area

Query by 30Janet54

Looking for information about John F. Funk born 1849 in Illinois or Iowa ( two conflicting census reports) married Roena H. Thompson December 19, 1872 in Vermillion, Illinois. She married Silas Beem January 14, 1886 in McPherson Kansas. John was a Tin Smith. They had two sons Norton J. born 1875 and Henry J. born 1877 in Illinois. John's Father born in Pennsylvania. Mother born in Ohio. Would appreciate any info on his life and death and parents names. Henry was my paternal grandfather who died in an accident in Prosser, Washington in 1910 when my Father was a tiny baby. My Grandmoher married his brother Norton who is my Aunt's Father. My parents are both dead but knew little about the Funk family as Norton apparently abandoned the family and my Grandmother married Charlie Miller whose name my Father took. I have traced Norton to Clay, Missouri in 1920 where he states on the census he is married and living with two men with unrelated names. I have not explored these for a possible relationship yet as this is not my direct line. My family surname is Miller (Funk). My Grandmother died just weeks after I was born in 1954 leaving no record of the Funk family and I find nothing in my Father's papers. Thank you for assisting me in any way.
