name of either parent (assuming they were not married). All documentation destroyed when adoptive mother died. Where do we go from here? Have tried various websites for a number of years without any 'takers'.

Can you provide more information and country of birth? I found my adopted grandmother's birth mother in the year 1900.

Thanks,

Thanks for your interest. From birth certificate - Father James William Perkins, mother Lillie Perkins nee Walters. Bournemouth England area of birth, home address not a Hospital or Nursing home. Child was my late father in law, Frederick William Perkins, shown in birth registry March quarter 1907. We cannot find a marriage for the parents, or any siblings and family hearsay is that parents went to sea (he was Merchant Navy) and never came back for him. It never worried him and he did not persue the search, but we would like to know if there was any family history. Australia is a vague possibility, but we have not found any leads. After he was taken in by the 'adoptive' family his name was changed to William Wise to match their other children.
