Very interesting info regarding Louis George Labatte and James Gruet (2011-09-6-8)
My name is Harvey Boyd and I am a direct descendant of Louis George and Louisa Cadotte (Ohgekequan), through his first born, Michael. This was his first marriage.
He (Louis George), then married Julie Francoise Gorite (Gruet,Grovette). They had 5 children...Antoine, Katrine, Ambrose, Dominique and Louis George.
I also have dates, marriages of these children...and marriages of their children.
I retrieved all of this info in the past year (2011), while searching for my ancestry and reading books about that particular time period.
I would like very much to find out more info and share our mutual interest.

I have encountered many spellings of that surname but "Grovette" is a new one to me. I too have researched the Labatte family but peripherally so my data isn't well organized.
