Thank you! While I had seen this entry before, I missed the reference to Mary's parents coming from Scotland! If I can find a way to dig around Canada, I might be able to locate more.

If you can get the death certificate for Charles W Sr, you may get the names of his parents.

I'll keep looking but have run out of places to look at the moment.

I appreciate your interest so far. It is a little more difficult working with the Canadian agencies; not that they are unwilling to help, but because much of their information is more regionalized, and not as computerized as in the United States. I think that my next step will be to contact surviving relatives who may know more about the specific origins of our ancestors. I remember a conversation I had with my grandmother about 27 years ago. She had traced the family back to Labrador and Newfoundland in the 1600s. If I can find her documentation, that would make things so much easier!
