What Brown are you looking for? I have a Brown Ancestry book that states my Brown's came to Missouri and all but 1 of 14 children went south after reaching the Mississippi River. My family of Brown's in Missouri were from the Shannon County area. There was 1 brother and his family who went north, I believe (would have to look it up), to Schuyler or Lancaster County. Thanks for getting to me so soon. I have the Brown family starting in MO around 1819. This was William John Brown. Think he had a son William A Brown (WAB) who went to Taney County, MO around 1835. Since WAB recorded he was born in Cumberland, Montgomery, TN in 1811, he may not related to William John Brown. I have records from Cumberland TN that shows several Browns got land grants there as a reward for being in the Revoluntary War. There is a John Brown recorded in Cumberland, but he died years before WAB was born. However he could have been an uncle to WAB.
Its hard to say how we may be connected since I don't have records of William John Brown (most records show him as John) I do have a picture of WAB on my ancestory site.
Browns also came from Indiania, I think, to Douglas county, MO, (easy to find through Google) . I do know there were Browns in southern MO in the 1800'. Hope this helps.
