I am searching for a John Whittle (whose nickname was Ginger) on behalf of a former armed forces colleague of his.
John Whittle joined the RAF as an AC2 with the RAF service number 2201143. He was a good pal of Ken Handley on behalf of whom I am making this enquiry. They joined the RAF together in, I am told, October 1942 at RAF Padgate.
They were together until 1943 when in Blackpool in 1943 John Whittle was 'volunteered' into joining the Royal Navy!!!!
Ken Handley can remember that John Whittle's home address was 68 Red Lumb, Rochdale, Lancashire.
