Goodfellow of London, England and Connecticut
Thomas Goodfellow sailed from London in the 1630s, as part of the Puritan Great Migration. He was in Hartford by 1639, and he had a son also named Thomas who was apprenticed to a blacksmith in 1673 and married in 1681 (to Mary Grant). They had several children. I, and others, are trying to discover which of the Thomas Goodfellows in London in the early C17th is the right one! One was born in 1604, parish of St Lawrence Jewry; another in 1611 in the parish of St Mildred Poultry. If anyone has any helpful information I would be pleased to hear it!

Hello, Andrew!! Any Luck on our search for a missing link (Thomas Goodfellow's family in England)? I have found several records-BUT only ONE out of Many says s. of Thomas of Hartford...
Believe me I HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD on this one. I WISH I could get my hands on the Goodfellow Families Book Written by Erwin Wilcox Fellows about Goodfellow Families in Pre-1800 New York, Their Descendants and their relation to THOMAS GOODFELLOW-BUT, I can't get my hands on it no matter HOW HARD I TRY!! Anyhow, Keep me posted on this one, will you?
Thank you, Again, Andrew!!!
Hi Sue Ann, Thanks for your message. The way I see it, the younger Thomas was born born in about 1650, and his father is either the Thomas Goodfellow born in London in 1604 (whose brother went to Virginia), or the Thomas Goodfellow born in London in 1611. Of course, he might not be either. I have not found anything here except the lists of passengers on board some of the ships of the Great Migration, but he is not on those I have looked at. I don't think the book will tell you anything new. I'll keep searching! Andrew
I don't think it's the one born in 1604 because the dates just don't match up, exactly, do they? So it has to be the one born in 1611. Is there any other records for that Thomas Goodfellow in the library at London? THANKS Andrew!!
Hey Andrew!! How are you? I am still searching for the Infamous Thomas Goodfellow's Past....Anyway, when i was going through some of my printouts, I realized that, "In the History of Ancient Wethersfield", by Henry R. Stiles, under Henry Buck, it says: BUCK, HENRY, m. Elizabeth (da. of Josias) Churchill, 31 Oct., 1660:Town gr. him ld. for blacksmith shop in 1658; a lot on W. side of High St., Common gr., 1661; was given the highway to the cove, 1680; drew ld. as a res. ld-owner, 1694: bo't of Theophilus Sherman ho-std., on E. side High St. at N. end, 1675: took Thos. Goodfellow as an apprentice, 1631: (rem. to New Jersey?).......
....Now do you think it is a type-o? I just thought i would get your opinion on the matter!! Lol...
Hey if you'd rather email me, it is STILL: sueannkelly69@gmail.com

P.S.
Btw: I found this onhttp://www.ancestor.abel.co.uk/Angus/Kirkden.html, for Kirkden Parish, Angus,: "Erected by THOMAS GOODFELLOW, in memory of his daughter MARY GRANT GOODFELLOW, who died at March of Gardyne Decr 2nd 1875, aged 10 years. Also his wife AGNES GRANT who died 9th April 1911, aged 75 years. The above THOMAS GOODFELLOW, died at Newton of Idvies 2nd Oct. 1926, aged 89 years" Do you think there is some relevance to this?
Hi, I believe these are my ancestors. I'll find my genealogy information to confirm. I think we are stuck at Thomas as well. I won't have time to check this out until next week. I'll post an update at that time. Kim Goodfellow (Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA)
