Mere Kapa Ngamai d. 1852 was the daughter of Rawiri Kowheta aka Rawiri Motutere or Maweuweu. In 1832 she married James Harrison american whaler from Massachusetts they lived Kapiti island.They had a son James Te Tana Harrison and a daughter Mere Kapa Ngamai 2 or Mere Harrison.James jr married Julia Wallace (warati) at Opunake. She died sept 1910 James died in Tauranga.Julia is buried in Orimupiko beside Mary Kingsley Harrison my grandmother. Julia and James had my great grand father Pomare Harrison father of Mary live with them.I am searching for information as to where James is buried.

Hi cankin I am the great grandson of James Harrison and I live in Tauranga. James is buried in the Anglican cemetery here in Tauranga and you can look up the location in the Tauranga city council cemetery records. The headstone is made from soft sandstone and hasn't weathered very well but can still be read. I would like information about your great grandfather to finish my whakapapa. Can you or any others tell me Pomare's birth and death dates and his wife's maiden name.

I am trying to find information about Mary Kingsley Papuni [nee Harrison] [1907-1927]who is buried at Orimupiko beside her grandmother Julia Harrison [nee Wallace; aka Turia Warahi][1852-1910].
Who were the parents of Mary Kingsley Papuni [nee Harrison][1907-1927]? Her father must be one of the sons of Julia Wallace and James Harrison.
Where does the Kingsley name come from?
