Evening Post 10 October 1887 A little girl, Theresa Alicia Hubble, daughter of Mr Francis Hubble, lineman of the Telephone Exchange, who resides in Ghuzbee-street, met her death yesterday in a somewhat peculiar manner. ... Mr and Mrs F. Hubble celebrated their golden wedding to-day at their home in Harbour View Road, Birkenhead, where they have lived all their married life. Mr Hubble is the son of the late Mr Samuel Hubble of Greenwich, Kent. He came to New Zealand in 1885, and soon after joined the clerical staff of the New Zealand Sugar Company, which later amalgamated with the Colonial Sugar Refining Company. He remained in that position until his retirement in 1922.
Mrs Hubble is the daughter of the late Mr Henry and Mrs Eliza Palmer, of Northcote. They have two children, Mrs Ken Taylor of Birkenhead, and Mr Noel Hubble, of Mission Bay. There are five grandchildren. Mr Hubble is a member of the Justices of the Peace Association
