Unfortunately no we dont know who Arthurs parents were. We also found the same Arthur William as you did. The Arthur we are looking for came to Australia we beleive on one of the child emigration schemes. One of the defense records has an address as the Salvation Army Training Farm plus we also worked his age to be about 23years of age at the time. That age was estimated on the date 1911. His 3 different years are : 12/09/1911-1914-1915.
Arthur is in the book under Mysteries.
Many Thanks.Shailel

There is a Francis William Shailer and family living there on the 1925 Electoral Roll and a marriage for Francis William Shailer to Hazel Amanda Irvine in 1927, could he possibly be a brother, uncle or cousin.
Francis William was born in QLD Australia in 1899 to Wiliam Shailer & Frances Few who married in 1885 in Queensland
I am amazed at the response to this question. Thank you.
Arthur William is a mystery ancestor. We have been search Arthur for nearly 4 years. About 8 of us all together. We have done all what you can find on the internet. I put him out there in case someone had something like a birth or marriage cert with more infomation. There are 6 children but none of them knew each other.
Arthur Married Phyliss (Philmenia BARRY)(B:19/02/1917 in Clifton, Qld) on 16/09/1939 in the Holy Cross Church, Wolloowin QLD. She Died 23 Oct 1993. No grave the ashes are scattered.
I have a copy of the whole of his defence records, Electrol rolls, and snippets from families who knew them.
One of his addresses were William Shailer's address in Brisbane. We are not sure of anything but talking to the immediate family members we are assuming a few things.
1 he may have been adopted by William Shailer and Frances Few.
2 He spent some time in Gympie, Qld. Nothing in the cemetery there.
3.A lone grave may be on one of the stations out at Quilpie, QLD.
We had thought we had found him in New Zealand but no wrong Arthur.
After 1958 Arthur has disappeared.
Many Thanks for all you have done but this one is a cracker. One we wont break.
Sorry I forgot to say yes that is our Arthur William Shailer.
If you think he might have come out from the Salvation Army Training Farm, have you tried the Salvation Army for records.

Yes we have but no reply unfortunately. What we did find out is that only family descendent s were able to write and then they had to prove their identity. We are having trouble getting the marriage cert as all the records are archived in Canberra and the grandson has not had any luck in that area either.
Thank you for the London info we willfollow up on that side of the Salvation army. I will send that info to Debbie in England and she might try from her side of the world. I will also get the Grandson to write away for information and take it from there. Thank you
Shailel
On Phyllis death certificate does it list her as widow?

so we can be sure that at least Arthur and William are known to each other and I'm still leaning toward Arthur as a relative of some sort.
Have you tried through Williams family his father and possible siblings. On Williams death index it says Father Francis mother Catherine O'Donnell, Catherine O'Donnell died 1875 and Francis married Catherine O'Neil in 1876. I not 100 percent sure but I think Francis was born abt 1820 in London as Francis Frederick Reyson/Risen/Rising Shailer to John & Elizabeth (nee Pitchford) Francis died 1909 QLD.
No it doesnt list Phyliss as a widow. We believe that he was around the Gympie area in the 1960s but no hint of a grave or death in that area. There are a lot of shailer families in the Gympie, Memerambi, Kingaroy districts. Yes we have but no one seems to know anything or have any trace of a connection.
My thoughts go to the Shailer/Pike family from New South Wales but no proof. I have written to the Forbes Family history society and they did some research for me and have posted it off to me. So when I get that I hope to have a new lead. Maybe. Francis Frederick Rising(FFR) is our family line and extends forever.
I went back to the Salvation army records and because we are looking for someone who lived in England then came to Australia we cant ask for their help. Plus they dont do research work just reunite families. Which is fair enough.
William at 47 Dobson street was another one of the addresses he used on his 3 entries to the forces.
Thanks for your input very much appreciated.
Regards
Shailel
