My greatgrandfather, SYLVESTER BROWN was born in 1824 in delaware County, N. Y. and died on June 15, 1895 at Ellington, N.Y. He was married twice and had children by both wives. The first wife was JULIA ANN(last name unknown) and his second wife was MERCY HOLDRIDGE.
Family researchers have been looking for any clue as to who his parents are. We have many documents and records of his life but not one mentions his parents. Unfortunately there was no record of his birth so we have relied on census and land sales, deeds, etc and even his death certificate list no parents names. Have been unable to find recent traces of his children and grandchildren except for my grandfather, CHARLES HENRY BROWN. Would appreciate any help in getting around this brickwall.
