Are you a descendant of John STEEL, early railway pioneer from County Durham, UK?

Query by Silva24

I am researching the history of John Steel, an early railway pioneer who worked with Richard Trevithick, builder of the first Steam locomotive which ran in Penydarren in 1804. Steel then built a similar engine at the Pipewell Gate Ironworks in Gateshead, County Durham in 1805. He was born in Collierley Dykes, Lanchester Parish in County Durham, possibly around 1780-85. I am trying to establish whether there is any link between him and my researched STEEL family in Leeds, as my grandfather told me that one of our ancestors had helped to build the first steam railway. Has anyone a STEEL family member with a similar history in their family tree?
