My grandmother, Ellen SMITH, was born on October 5, 1879. She married my grandfather, George Henry CAPNERHURST, on December 21, 1902. They emmigrated to Canada in April - July, 1905.

Ellen's father was William SMITH born 1848 in Worcester, Worcester, England, his father was William SMITH. Her mother was Ann PARDOE, born September 1854 in Worverhampton, Stafford, England, her father was Thomas PARDOE.(The birthplaces and approximate birth dates of William and Ann come from the 1881 Census. The marriage date and father's names come from William and Ann's marriage certificate.)

From both the 1881 and 1901 censuses we obtain the following information concerning siblings with approx. birthdates: William (son of William and older brother to Ellen)1874or5, Elizabeth "Lizzie" born 1885/6, Maria "Ria" born 1888/9, Charles born 1891/2, Helena born 1892/3, Alice born 1895/6, and Annie for whom I have no birthdates.
