My Grandfather Arthur Emeny born 1877 london came to NZ from England around 1915 and settled in waiheke island and later rotorua, he had six children three without children and the other three had one, one and four boys my father being one of the four.
Its a long shot but if you have any info I would be egaer to hear it

that was Arthur Frederick Emeny who died in Rotorua 6 June 1963 aged 85
His ashes were buried in Plot 42, Ash Berm, Block 6A, RSA section at Rotorua

was his wife's name Beatrice? who died in Auckland Hospital on 18 Oct 1944 aged 45. Her ashes were scattered at Waikumete and not taken over to Waiheke
There was an age difference of 18 years between this Arthur and Beatrice so not sure if they were a couple, although her husband's name was Arthur Emeny

It would be best if you shared with us all the info you have so far which will make searching so much easier

Arthur is the one you mentioned his wife was Martha Emma Verey they married in 1901 london His parents were Stuart charles Emeny 1842 and Sarah Jane Rew 1839 Arthurs children are Norman arthur 1902 Marie Louise 1903 Dudley Alfred 1905 Edward Charles 1907 Vera Annie 1909 and Doris Ruth 1913
I am not sure what he did on Waiheke but know that he was a type setter on a newspaper in Tokomaru Bay

see also Emeny Burials which has Norman Arthur Verey Emeny & Edward Charles Verey Emeny also buried at Rotorua. A Stuart Charles Emeny (1938-1938) was probably named after Arhur's father but don't know yet who the parents were. Doesn't look like Vera Annie married, she is also at Rotorua.

this Stuart was probably named after Arthur's father, who was also Stuart Charles Emeny, but I do not know who the parents were of the 1 year old at Rotorua cemetery

Oh right, that is interesting. Those Emeny must have lived in Rotorua with out knowing Arthur was also living there.
Its funny because Arthur had a brother Walter Norman born 1875 , but didnt think he came to NZ The plot thickens!

The parents of the child that died and is buried in Rotorua

I was thinking that the child, Stuart Charles Emeny, born in 1937 was very probably a grandson of Arthur Frederick Emeny, as all of his sons also lived in Rotorua

The likely candidates being:
* Norman & Anne Rose Emeny
* Dudley Enemy (by the way, I have not yet found his burial, do you known?)
* Edward & Ethel Mavis Emeny

At this stage I'm thinking Edward as the strongest contender, only because his second name was Charles, so passing it on, as they did ???
Unfortunately, Stuart was the only body burial all the others being ashes, otherwise he would have been buried with, or next to, his parents

just hope someone who knows will read this on the net and let us know

All Arthurs children were born in england 3 boys and 3 girls one of whom is my grandmother Marie Louise Emeny her mother Martha died in 1931 and he never remarried. so likely this child is not his. Strange that this infant is called the exact name of my gg grandfather and buried in Rotorua. Now that is just weird
Dudley, Edward (Ted) and Norman were Arthurs sons
Everything has an answer, but wether I get to know it is another thing

and then when you read further down the journal you will find individual info for each of his children

as I said above ... "It's a shame little Stuart was the only 'body burial' at Rotorua, all the adults being ash interments, otherwise he would have been buried with, or next to, his parents" and that would have told us who his parents were. But then, genealogy wouldn't be so interesting if it was that easy :)

Thank you for that I have solved the question of who the parents of Stuart Charles infant. They were Edward (Ted) and Ethel they had twin boys in 1937 and only Peter survived, until now I didnt know the name of the other twin.
