Otago Daily Times, 26 November 1918 Driver Arthur Wadsworth, who died from imfluenza at Alexandra Park Military Hospital, England, on November 6, was the fourth son of Mr Walter Wadsworth, Shetland street, Kaikorai. He was born at Wyndham 25 years ago, and was educated at Gore. He went to Melbourne nine years ago, enlisted there three years and 11 months ago, and never had a scratch. He leaves a widow in Melbourne. His younger brother, George Ashcroft Wadsworth, was missing, believed to be killed, on August 29. (1897-1918)

... Private G. H. Heather stated that he was about 5 yards ahead of Corporal Wills on 28th April, near Quinns Post, some of the men were carrying Ammunition. Someone called out "Corporal Wills shot through the head", he having been shot by a stray bullet. They had no time to go back and examine the body. Wills could never have been taken prisoner as it happened some distance behind the firing line. Witness knew Wills very well, they having been friends before they enlisted

... on Aug 20th at Pozieres the trench had been badly knocked about by German fire and it was necessary to establish strong points at intervals along the damaged trench. In these strong points groups of men were assembled getting what cover they could. While crouching in this position a piece of H. B. Shell hit Young in the middle of the back; he never moved from his position and died at once
... witness J. C. Ferguson 3738 stated that Young was killed at night near witness and buried on right at Pozieres Wood behind front line. A cross was erected bearing name, unit and motto of Scotch College, Melbourne where deceased and witness were both educated
