What became of John Francis O'Connor Snr? He disappeared from the family home in Caledonian Road, Oamaru, New Zealand sometime before 1920. We know nothing about him after this. He had been rumoured to have gone to Australia joining the Army, dying at Galipolli. But extensive research hasn't found any evidence of this.
