Looking for a connection / verification of James and Bridget McCarty , my ggg grandparents.

James McCarty (b.1797)
Bridget McCarty (nee Cummings) (b.1805)

They ended up in Sheffield, Mass, USA . but came to the US from County Galway according to my gg James McCarty's obit. Bridget and James had 7 children : Bridget, Ellen, James, Patrick, John, Martin, and Katherine. The family emigrated to US about 1852 to 1854.

I have no entry port in the US, but they did all end up in Western Massachusetts, here in the US.

Hoping to make a connection to where they came from in Ireland.
